The three mistakes Mr Putin threatens us with

Not all that is true is to be said out loud just any time. For now, the Russian president is destroying the Donbass with bombs. The aggression is raging and it is not at a time when the Russian president is putting Ukraine through this martyrdom that we should worry about “not humiliating Russia”.

France, Ukraine and Europe

Nothing irreparable, nothing irreversible, but beware! A gap is opening up in the Union between its two main powers, France and Germany on the one hand, and on the other, all the states that have left the Soviet bloc or the USSR itself. Before this gets worse and Vladimir Putin can believe he is in a position to take advantage of it, misunderstandings must be cleared up, and it is up to France to do this, because it is the country that arouses the most fear in Central and Eastern Europe.

Foreword

Dear Readers,

welcome to this site.

It is not simply the webpage of the Member of the European Parliament, who I have become with great apprehension. Not of the journalist either, who I have been for half a century.

It is a wild ambition: I wanted to give a report on my work as an elected representative in Brussels and in Strasbourg, to continue to follow the evolution of world politics and to try to describe and decipher the stakes and the mysteries behind the scenes of the European institutions.

I wanted to create a multilingual site, to step across the borders that sometimes still separate us.

“Smithing makes the smith”, I hope you will bear with me.

Yours,

Bernard Guetta
