Let us imagine, let us hope, let us dream for a moment. Let us imagine that this immense movement that has been arousing today’s Algeria for so many months now, young, determined and aspiring for dignity, justice and the rule of law – let us imagine that this movement prevails.
This victory would bring more than just happiness and pride for Algeria. It would bring a mobilization of all its energies to resume the inter-Maghreb dialogue, the economic and cultural cooperation with Europe and the aid from both shores of the Mediterranean to Sub-Saharan Africa.
It would be the fulfilment of our aspirations that all of us, North Africans and Europeans share, and that is why we must all adopt this resolution against an intolerable and absurd repression that risks breaking this beautiful Algerian dream.
Let us all send a message to Algeria with the hope, support and affection of Europe.
